SUMMARY:
The Deputy Prosecuting Attorney's mission is to assist the Twin Falls County Prosecuting Attorney in prosecuting to the limit of the law all persons accused of crimes within Twin Falls County, and in defending with equal vigor the rights and privileges of all its citizens. The Deputy Prosecuting Attorney prosecutes infractions, misdemeanors, and felony cases, and civil cases as assigned by the Prosecuting Attorney.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Essential
· Licensed to practice law in the District Courts of the State of Idaho.
· A college graduate with a Bachelor of Arts or Sciences Degree.
· A graduate of an accredited law school with a Juris Doctorate Degree.
· Familiar with and have a working knowledge of constitutional law, criminal law, criminal procedure, the rules of evidence, and prosecutorial ethics.
· A criminal litigation attorney, able to prosecute infractions, misdemeanor, and felony level cases without excessive assistance.
· Skilled in oral and written communication.
· Knowledge of and ability to use computer word processing programs (Word Perfect for Windows and Microsoft Word.)
· Ability to sit and move intermittently in an office environment, occasional lifting office supplies (files, binders, etc.).
· Ability to talk and hear (in person and by telephone), to read, understand, and memorize legal writing, and to see (legal documents, etc.).
· Manual dexterity to perform simple office functions (typing, filing, collating, operating office machines).
· Able to perform essential duties efficiently and accurately with or without reasonable accommodations and without endangering incumbent or other employees.

Victim Witness Coordinator -- Canyon County Prosecutor's Office
Salary: Depends on Experience
Classified: Canyon County Personnel Rule 5.3
FLSA Status: Covered
SUMMARY:
The primary function of an employee in this class is to provide crime victims with information concerning their rights and general information on the court process and procedures, ensuring the victim is informed of all developments and decisions regarding their case. The employee also provides general support and referrals to agencies and providers to crime victims. The work is performed under supervision of the Victim/Witness Director, with considerable latitude granted for the exercise of independent judgment and initiative. The principal duties of this class are performed in a public office building but include responses to crime scenes, victims' homes, shelters or hospitals, which may include exposure to dangerous situations.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Bachelors degree in criminal justice or a related field preferred; and two (2) years experience in criminal justice field required; bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred or any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the knowledge and abilities necessary to perform the work. Must successfully complete a background investigation through the National Crime Information Center (NCIC) and Prosecuting Attorney investigation. Must have a valid driver's license.
